Dear Nurturing Friend,
As we begin our fourth decade of charitable service and launch our new TNN website, I am reminded of the many friends and volunteers who have helped us to bind the wounds and heal the broken lives of over 25,000 women and children. Countless gifts of time and treasure from TNN’s 52,000 volunteer resource members have formed the legacy of love that is the very heart of the Nurturing Network.
Over the past three decades, TNN has provided a full range of practical resources to over 25,000 women and children when their own support networks have let them down. Their hope-filled lives offer a powerful testimony to the lasting good that can be accomplished when we work together to serve the most vulnerable in our midst.
As we reflect upon all that has been accomplished and anticipate how much more remains to be done, I am happy to share the good news that during this next year my primary focus will be on developing the educational component of TNN’s mission. Having the freedom to write and speak, learn and teach about the need for empowerment among the most disadvantaged in our society will be my primary goal in the year ahead.
We will provide practical resources to women in crisis exclusively through a well-developed network of pregnancy resource centers. It has taken thirty years to identify and, in many cases, help to train and form the very best organizations capable of providing for the urgent needs of women in crisis. I am encouraged by the progress that has been made and inspired by the good work that is being done in communities all across America. It is precisely because this strong infrastructure is now in place that I can responsibly focus my efforts on the educational component of our vital mission.
I hope that you will receive this letter as my personal invitation to join with me and our dedicated Network members in all fifty states and thirty foreign countries as we help to form a more just and peaceful world.
