I would like to take this moment to express my joy and gratitude for your interest in the Nurturing Network. It is a source of great comfort and encouragement to work alongside new friends like you who both understand the plight of a woman facing the crisis of an unplanned pregnancy and feel called upon to offer her support.
What began as a modest, grassroots attempt to marshal the energy and talent of a few caring friends has blossomed over the years into a powerful Network of over 48,000 volunteer Member Resources. Our volunteers now form an extensive employment, medical, educational, counseling and residential network which enables a college or working woman to continue the life of her unborn child -- without sacrificing her own educational and career development.
Since our founding, we have provided a positive alternative to abortion to over 19,000 women by offering each mother an individually-tailored program of support free of charge. As you can tell from our website, the objective of The Nurturing Network is not a political one, but a most practical one: To ensure that every woman knows that all of the assistance she needs in order to continue her pregnancy is available by visiting our website.
As you may be aware, I founded TNN following the discovery that the vast majority of college women who choose a more desperate alternative do so not out of “freedom of choice” but out of a sense that they have no other choice. This alarming fact is still true today. TNN is committed to ensuring that the choice for life is truly available to every woman faced with the crisis of an unplanned pregnancy.
You may already appreciate that many colleges, campus pro-life groups and community leaders have chosen to express their respect for life through the Nurturing Network's simple but highly effective "Clustering Process." With this in mind, I invite you to download our College-University Information Packet found at the bottom of this page. The information which it contains could serve as a helpful starting point in developing a plan to involve your college or university in this vital outreach. Your review of this material along with viewing online excerpts of our 20th Anniversary documentary DVD will hopefully inspire you to consider how our Network can become an even more powerful resource in your own community.
Our newest publication, Compassion in Action, has been a personal project of mine for many years. This inspiring book which is filled with moving stories and memorable photos can be previewed on our website. In these pages, you will meet Nurturing Network Members and Clients whose lives have been profoundly touched by their generous support. It is available through our Gift Gallery for a donation to help defray printing costs.
Most important of all, if you meet a woman who could benefit from TNN’s program, please share our brochure, Website address and toll-free number with her. Our Network Client and Member Applications are available online and we are ready to assist in any way that we can.
