Unique & Differentiating Characteristics Of The Nurturing Network
"As you consider our Network's challenge, we ask only this: That you put aside the polarizing rhetoric of pro-life and pro-choice positions and discover the vast common ground that will nurture the seeds of mutual understanding. Those who support 'choice' can hardly dispute the value of creating another choice. Those who support life can hardly reject an alternative made real."
- Mary Cunningham Agee
Prime Advocacy
The prime objective of The Nurturing Network is to serve the needs of the woman faced with an unplanned pregnancy. As many organizations seek to serve the needs of the child, the potentially adoptive parents, or the family of the mother-to-be, the Network has established the needs of the woman facing a crisis pregnancy as paramount to all others in its work.
The Network's Philosophy
Choosing life is inherently a more hope-filled option than choosing abortion. No one would debate that the consequences of one choice is life and the other is death. The pattern of approaching each crisis in life with a hope-filled response is one that will serve an individual well.
The Nurturing Network's commitment to its clients does not begin and end with the most immediate problem of a crisis pregnancy. Rather, a great emphasis is placed upon helping each woman plan for her future by addressing issues such as family relationships, her education, housing, parenting, adoption, job skills and career planning. The development of personal independence and a healthy self-image are among the qualities that the Nurturing Network tries to enhance in each woman through her experience with our Network.
Our Network recognizes that a person's ability to regain control over one's life after a crisis is greatly enhanced by the exercise of legitimate freedom of choice. Therefore, the Network seeks to provide complete information, meaningful choices and an unbiased environment in which women can make sound decisions.
The Nurturing Network, its staff and members, realize that personal growth is often achieved through personal suffering. Therefore, the continuation of a crisis pregnancy has the potential for reaping significant personal reward. The benefits of such profound personal growth may not be immediately evident but will inevitably be manifested in the years that follow.
The Network, through its attitudes, services, and facilities seeks to enhance the self-esteem of every woman we serve. All clients are viewed as deserving of our respect, admiration and support.
